Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta now, Sunshine is born in Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician by singing and playing in the local church. She was a student at Spellman College and began to study the R&B styles of Atlanta. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine received national attention for 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to sing as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
