Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is a famous American woman who is a businesswoman. Buss is the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently serves as its president. Buss is a native of California and was raised as part of a rich family. Their father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon, who was later the proprietor of the Lakers and other sports businesses. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated after her parents split in 1972. At 19 years old, she began working for the family business as the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. After that, she established an organization called the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum before assuming the role of vice president for the Lakers. Buss along with her five siblings and brothers as well as their father, who owned the Lakers and controlled them until the time of his death in 2013, took over the ownership via the trust.
