Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over 20 years. She is the owner and director of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss hails from California is a member of an exceptionally wealthy family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty tycoon after which he later became the owner of the Lakers. The couple divorced in 1972, which caused her to feel like she was neglected. Her family's business was started when she was 19 as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. Later, she established the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before becoming Vice president of the Lakers. Her father died in 2013, and the ownership for the Lakers was inherited by Buss as well as her siblings through a family trust which gave each sibling the same vote. She assumed the office as president for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion that is based within Los Angeles.
